Belbin’s Team Roles

Belbin's Team Roles is a model developed by Dr. Meredith Belbin in the 1970s, which identifies nine roles that individuals can play in a team to enhance overall effectiveness. These roles are categorized into three groups: Action-Oriented, People-Oriented, and Thought-Oriented roles. The Action-Oriented roles include the Shaper, Implementer, and Completer-Finisher. People-Oriented roles are the Coordinator, Teamworker, and Resource Investigator. Thought-Oriented roles consist of the Plant, Monitor-Evaluator, and Specialist. Each role contributes a unique set of skills and behaviors that are crucial for the team's success. Understanding and leveraging these roles can help teams achieve greater synergy and improve performance.
