This is a wide-ranging and nicely up-to-date book about Confluence. It's written for people who want to know how Confluence can help their teams work better at a business level. The author runs an Atlassian consulting business, and the book feels exactly like what could be given to prospective customers to help them get started. The quality of the writing and editing is excellent, as are the many screenshots and the index. I also liked the Q&A format at the end of each chapter.

Implementing Atlassian Confluence" by Eren Kalelioğlu is a book that speaks to the heart of building an efficient, information-driven organization. As someone who has navigated the complex pathways of Confluence at Atlassian, I found this book to be a trustworthy guide in demystifying the tool's capabilities.

The book strikes a balance between offering practical tips and understanding the evolution of an organization's informational needs. It resonates deeply with my experience, where Confluence was pivotal in organizing everything from 1-1 meetings to comprehensive technical documentation. Kalelioğlu effectively showcases how Confluence can grow with your organization, adapting to increased demands and complexity. This aspect is crucial for any growing enterprise seeking to maintain a coherent and accessible knowledge base.

What sets this book apart is its ability to weave a narrative around Confluence's role in a distributed enterprise environment. It doesn’t just list features; it contextualizes them within the journey of an organization scaling its operations. The book offers a roadmap for evolving your usage of Confluence, ensuring that as your team grows, your methods of managing information and decisions grow alongside it.

In my years at Atlassian, understanding the nuances of Confluence was key to our efficiency. This book mirrors that journey, making it an invaluable resource for anyone looking to lay a solid foundation in their use of Confluence. It's a book you can rely on, providing a comprehensive yet practical guide to mastering one of the most powerful tools in modern organizational infrastructure.

I've recently sat and achieved my APB-220 Confluence Space Admin badge, but found it was really difficult finding clear concise study materials. It took a few attempts but I finally managed to pass through trial and error.

There is a decent Udemy course, a couple of YouTube Channels and then the "great unknown" of Atlassian documentation and Community articles, but nothing really felt targeted and in-depth.

I haven't finished reading this book yet but so far I'm very impressed. The topics are broad, deep and well structured - just the way Confluence should be set up!

The language used is easy to follow and includes easy to follow examples. In my attempts to pass the APB-220 I found it nearly impossible to find easy-to-understand breakdowns of macros, their functionality and use cases - this book delivers big time in this space.

With updates coming thick and fast for Confluence I had concerns that a book would be too static to keep up with the required knowledge to run Confluence, but the foundations and fundamentals are covered in such detail that this book will be useful for decades to come (unless Atlassian/Confluence get acquired and the whole thing gets re-written!)

In short, this book is a must have for Confluence Admins, Consultants and enthusiasts.

I have been a longtime user of Confluence and I have been looking for an updated book to compliment my (well-worn) copy of Atlassian Confluence 5 Essentials. So, I eagerly agreed to receive an advance copy of Implementing Atlassian Confluence by Eren Kalelioğlu for this review. I do have to say, Eren does not disappoint.

The author starts at the beginning, identifying where Confluence can be the most beneficial. He examines basic differences between the cloud version of Confluence versus the on-premesis (server and data center) versions. He also demonstrates to the reader the importance of preparation in determining the content that will be stored in Confluence.

Eren then proceeds with detailed instructions for setting up a Confluence site with different spaces depending on your audience. After setting up the spaces, he then details introducing Confluence to your users. After initial rollout, he then details how to scale Confluence and maintaining and supporting Confluence.

Overall, this book excels at giving Confluence novices guidance on how to start with Confluence from design to rollout to maintenance. More experienced Confluence users and admins will appreciate the pointers to advanced topics and articles. This book is a solid resource for working with this Atlassian tool.
